Radish Greens Moong Dal Curry

Radish Greens with Moong Dal  curry is a nutritious curry to serve as a side dish for rice or roti’s. A healthy curry for all ages which is loaded with proteins, vitamins and minerals. Radish greens are an excellent source of Vitamin C. It contains cancer protective properties and aids in digestion. It also helps to flush toxins from the body, In fact they have more calcium, protein and vitamin C than the roots.

Ingredients:

Moong dal – 1/2 cup

Radish leaves – 1 bunch chopped

Mustard – 1/4 tsp

Cumin – 1/4 tsp

Curry leaves – 1 spring

Green chilies – 2 no’s slit or chili powder – 1/2 tsp

Onion – 1 medium chopped

Turmeric powder – 2 pinch

Coconut – 2 tbs grated (optional)

Salt to taste

Oil to fry

 

Method:

Soak moong dal for 30 min, after 30 min drain the water in it, rinse chopped radish leaves for twice, drain the water in it,  pressure cook along with soaked moong dal by adding 1 cup of water, pressure cook it for 2 whistle and keep ready.

Heat oil in a pan, when it is hot add mustard allow it to sizzle, then add cumin allow it to splutter, then add chilies, curry leaves and chopped onion fry until translucent, add 2 pinch of turmeric powder, saute

Add cooked dal mixture, mix well, add salt to taste, bring it to boil for 2 min,

Add grated coconut, mix with the curry, switch off the flame.

Enjoy nutritious radish greens moong dal curry as a side dish for sambar rice or roti’s.
