Poha fruit delight recipe I Avalakki panchamrita

Poha fruit delight is a quick and delicious sweet dish which needs no cooking, it is a mixture of fruits with flattened rice, a perfect sweet dish to prepare as a prasad or Nievedyam to offer god, and also the best dish to eat during fasting or vrat / upvas recipe. It is a great way to boost your energy naturally. Avalakki Panchamrita is a traditional recipe in south India.

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:

Flattened rice /poha – 1 cup (thick variety)

Milk – 3/4 cup

Sugar – 3 tbs

Honey – 1 tbs

Banana – 1 cup chopped

Apple – 1 cup chopped

Pomegranate – 1/2 cup

Ghee – 1 tsp (optional)

Mixed dry fruits – cashew nut, risen, anjeer, dates (broken into small pieces)

Coconut – 3 tbs grated (optional)

Cardamom – 3 no’s (powdered)

Method:

Wash and soak flattened rice/poha in water for 5 to 8 min, after soaking drain the water and keep ready.

Add soaked poha in a bowl, mix sugar into it.

Add chopped fruits, dry fruits, combine together, add honey

Add grated coconut, milk and cardamom powder, mix properly, rest it for 10 min before you serve.

You can add fruits of your choice, and also you can add more or less quantity or sugar as you wish.
