Tomato bhath recipe or masala rice bath

This is a south Indian recipe for tomato rice (bhath) .This is an easy one pot rice dish,tomato bath is one of the best options to serve in winters or in rainy days. It can be prepared in less than 30 minutes.Best rice dish to pack lunch box,which taste delicious and loved by everyone.

Serves – 4
Ingredients –
Sona masuri rice – 2 cup
Onion – 3 medium chopped
Tomato – 6 medium chopped
Green chilies – 8 slit into two pieces
Coriander leaves – 1 bunch chopped
Mint leaves – 1 bunch chopped
Salt to taste
Oil to fry.
Ingredients to grind –
Coconut – 1 cup grated
Garlic – 10 cloves
Ginger – 1 inch(cut into small pieces)
Clove – 6 no’s
Cinnamon – 4 small pieces
Coriander powder – 1 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
How to make or prepare tomato bhath –
Take a mixer jar add all the ingredients to grind and make a paste and keep ready.
Heat a pressure cooker pan by adding oil in it,when it is hot add green chilies,chopped onion fry till it turns to translucent
Add chopped herbs and stir fry till it becomes soft.
Add chopped tomato and fry till it becomes soft and oil separates from it.
Add grounded paste mix together ,fry till the raw smell disappears from it.
Add 4 cup of water and salt to taste bring it to boil
Wash rice and drain the water in it,add it to the boiling mixture,stir it once,pressure cook for 1 whistle.
Make a low flame for 5 to 8 min and turn off the flame,when the cooker is cool,open the lid,mix properly
Transfer the dish to a serving plate and enjoy with salad ,coconut chutney or potato chips.
