Tempered puffed-rice I Puri oggarane recipe I seasoned puffed-rice

Puri oggarane is a spicy crunchy homemade snack prepared with puffed-rice. A popular tea time snack prepared by tempering curry leaves, peanuts, roasted gram, garlic, chilies, turmeric, and salt, Then tossed with puffed rice, a perfect snack to munch with a cup of tea or coffee on a rainy day or summer day or as a timepass snack, the recipe may vary from region to region every home as a unique and traditional method to make this recipe, garlic-flavored tempered puffed-rice is an all-time favorite variety 🙂 just try and enjoy as a tea-time snack that can be prepared in minutes if you have all the ingredients ready at home.
Ingredients:
Puffed rice – 100 gms
Peanuts – 1/2 cup
Roasted gram – 1/2 cup
Curry leaves – 2 or 3 springs
Garlic – 10 cloves
Chilly powder – 1 tsp adjust to your taste
Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
Salt – 1 tsp
Oil – 3 tbs

Method:
Always select a crispy and crunchy variety of puffed rice to make this recipe,
Keep all the above ingredients handy to start.
Take a wide and heavy bottomed pan or vessel,
add 3 tbs of oil in it, when it is hot add peanuts, fry until it turns light brown, then add roasted gram fry until light brown, (take care not to burn or over roast any ingredient while frying)
then add garlic (no need to peel the skin) fry until aromatic, then add curry leaves allow it to splutters,
now add chilly powder or broken dry chilies, turmeric, and salt to taste (add salt to adjust the taste if the puffed rice is salty then add little less salt) saute, switch off the flame.
Allow it to rest for 2 mins, when the seasoning is warm enough, add puffed rice.
Toss it well with a spatula until all the ingredients mix well, till chilly powder and turmeric get coated evenly.
Give a nice mix.
Puri oggarane/Tempered puffed-rice is ready to enjoy!

Preserve or store Puri oggarane/Tempered puffed-rice in an airtight container for a week or 2 weeks.
