Sprouted Green-gram Turnip curry I Molike Hesarkalu Navilkosu kutu

Sprouted Green- gram curry is a healthy and delicious curry to accompany with rice or rotis. The goodness of sprouts and turnip makes a unique combination. An authentic south Indian recipe.
Ingredients:
Sprouted green gram – 2 cups
Turnip/Knol knol (Navilkosu) – 1 cup chopped
To grind –
Coconut – 1/2 cup
Coriander – 2 Tsp
Urad dal – 1 Tsp
Fenugreek – 1/4 Tsp
Cumin – less than 1/4 tsp
Chana dal – 1 Tsp
Kashmir Chilies – 4 or 5 no’s
Turmeric – 1/4 Tsp
For seasoning –
Mustard – 1/4 Tsp
Curry leaves – 1 spring
Onion – 1 chopped
Tomato – 1 chopped
Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp
Oil to fry

Method:
Heat a shallow pan add little in it, fry coriander, chana dal, urad dal, fenugreek, cumin and dry chilies until light brown in a medium flame.
Grind the roasted ingredients with coconut by adding enough water, grind to a smooth paste ( dry roast poppy seeds separately/ raw grind along with all the ingredients) and keep ready.
Keep all the other ingredients handy, Add little oil in a pressure cooker pan, when it is hot add mustard seeds, allow it to splutter, then add asafoetida and curry leaves, saute add chopped onion fry until translucent, then add chopped tomato saute for a while.
Add rinsed sprouted Green gram and turnip/Knol – knol (Navilkosu) saute until the raw smell goes. Add salt to taste.
Add grounded paste combine medium inconsistency, close the lid and cook it for 1 whistle. When the pressure of the cooker settles down by its own open the lid, bring the curry to boil for 2 to 3 min, switch off the flame.
Healthy Sprouted Green- gram curry is ready to enjoy with rice or Rotis.
