Spicy prawns dry recipe

Spicy prawns dry is a south Indian delicious side dish or an easy to make appetizer, prepared by marinating prawns, shallow fried with little oil and seasoned with flavorful spices with yogurt and tomato sauce which makes a mouth watering dish to serve as a side dish or as an appetizer.
Ingredients:
For marination –
Prawns – 750 gm
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Salt
Corn flour – 3 tbs
All purpose flour – 1 1/2 tbs
Lemon juice – 2 tsp
For seasoning –
Curry leaves – 2 springs
Dry chilies – 3 no’s broken into small pieces
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Chilly powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala powder – 1/4 tsp
Pepper powder – 1/2 tsp
Kasuri methi – 1 tsp
Tomato sauce/tomato ketchup – 2 tbs (more or less adjust to your taste)
Yogurt – 4 tbs
Salt to taste
Oil
Method:
- Step – 1
Remove the shell of the prawns, devein it, drain the water in it, add it to a bowl, add turmeric powder, salt and lemon juice to marinate, toss it well and set aside to marination for 3 hrs.

After marination, Add corn flour and all purpose flour, mix with the prawns, add/ sprinkle little water if necessary, shallow fry prawns with little oil until done, in two or 3 batches, drain the oil, Put shallow fried prawns on a kitchen towel to absorb the excess oil in it.
Keep all the ingredients handy to season it.

Mix all the dry spice powders with yogurt to a paste and keep ready.
- Step – 4
Heat little oil in a pan, when it is hot add curry leaves, chilies and ginger garlic paste, fry until raw smell evaporates from it.
Add prepared yogurt paste into, fry until oil separates from the edges,
When the mixture thickens to a thick in consistency, add tomato sauce/tomato ketchup, combine , fry for a while,
Add shallow fried prawns into the mixture, toss it well until the mixture coats to prawns properly. Remove from the flame
Garnish with chopped coriander.
