Spicy Peanut Chutney recipe

Spicy peanut chutney is a tangy and tasty chutney to enjoy with Dosa or Idli’s. It is a delicious chutney prepared with coconut, roasted peanuts, dry chilies, cumin, pepper, garlic which makes a spicy flavorful chutney to enjoy with Idli or dosa’s. An easy to make chutney with simple ingredients.
Ingredients:
Coconut – 1/4 cup grated/chopped
Peanut – 1 cup (dry roasted)
Cumin – 1/4 tsp
Pepper corns – 6 – 7 corns
Dry chili – 2 – 3 no’s
Garlic – 3 cloves
Tamarind – small marble size ball
Salt to taste
For seasoning –
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves – 1 spring
Oil – 2 tsp
Method:
Take a mixer jar add all the ingredients in it, Blend it to chutney by adding water to blend.
Transfer the prepared chutney to a bowl, add water to medium thick in consistency or adjust to your taste, combine.
Heat a tadka pan by adding oil in it, when it is hot add mustard seeds in it, allow it to sizzle in oil, add curry leaves, fry until it splutters, remove from the flame.
Add prepared seasoning to chutney, mix properly.
Enjoy with Any variety of dosa or any variety of Idli’s or enjoy with steamed rice.
Note –
The quantity of the coconut must be less and the quantity of peanuts/groundnut is preferably more to prepare this chutney.
For seasoning – more oil is added compared to other chutney’s .
This chutney tastes delicious even it is prepared to thin in consistency.
Take care while dry frying peanuts, not to over roast or under cook as it is the key ingredient to prepare this recipe. Always fry peanut in a medium flame until it turns to golden brown and crisp.
