Radish greens curry I Mulangi soppina palya

Today I’m sharing a healthy stir fry recipe with the greens of radish/ Mulangi soppu . A nutritious side dish, which makes delicious stir fry to enjoy with rice or roti’s. Radish leaves work great in providing many minerals and vitamins to our body. It helps for the smooth functioning of the body. Radish leaves are rich in nutrients and many minerals. The minerals include the calcium, phosphorous, iron, Vitamin C, Folic acid and many more. Just give a try and enjoy as a side dish for roti or rice.
Ingredients:
Radish greens (Mulangi soppu ) – 1 bowl chopped
Cumin – 1/4 tsp
Mustard – 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves – 1 spring
Dry chilies – 2 no’s
Garlic – 4 pods crushed
Onion – 1/2 cup chopped
Sambar powder – 1 tsp
Dry roasted peanuts – 2 tbs
Salt to taste
Oil – 2 tbs

Method:
Clean radish leaves, chop the leaf and the stem part into small pieces, rinse in water, drain the water and keep ready.
Make a coarse powder of dry roasted peanuts and set aside.
Heat a pressure cooker pan by adding oil in it, when it is hot add cumin and mustard, allow it to sizzle in oil,
Add curry leaves, dry chilies and crushed garlic, fry until you get a fresh aroma, then add chopped onion, fry until translucent.
Add greens saute until it becomes soft, add sambar powder and salt to taste, fry for a while, add 1/4 cup of water, close the lid of the cooker pan and cook for 1 whistle.
When the cooker is ready/ cool, open the lid, bring the curry to boil until water get absorbed within it. once done, add coarsely powdered (dry roasted) peanuts, mix . Switch off the flame.
Nutritious Mulangi soppina palya/Radish greens stir fry is ready to enjoy.
Note –
Radish greens takes little more time to cook compared to other greens, so I often pressure cook it for 1 whistle.
Add little salt/ Take care while adding salt in preparation as the greens of radish taste little salty naturally.
