Quick butter chakli muruku I Dhidir chakli recipe

Quick butter chakli muruku or Dhidir chakli means quick chakli in kannada is a instant chakuli which melts in the mouth when it is tasted, it is quick and very easy to make recipe for any occasions, all you need is rice flour, roasted gram, butter and simple spices to prepare this recipe. It is also a traditional Indian snack prepared especially during festivals like Diwali and Krishna Jayanthi. Do try this simple and delicious snack and enjoy it as a tea time or any time snack.

Serves – 5
Ingredients –
Rice flour – 2 cup
Roasted gram – 1/2 cup
Butter – 50 gm or lemon sized ball
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Sesame – 1 tsp
Chilly powder – 1 tsp
Asafoetida – 1 pinch
Salt to taste
Oil to fry
How to prepare or to make Butter chakli murukku –
Take a mixer jar add roasted gram in it and run the mixer to make a fine powder
In a mixing bowl, add rice flour, fried gram dal powder, asafoetida, sesame seeds, cumin seeds, red chili powder and salt and mix well. Add butter and combine altogether.
rub well the ingredients so that butter should spread or coat to the powder.
Add water little by little and knead well into a smooth dough. It should be easy enough to press.
Fill a portion of dough in a chakli maker and squeeze the murukku using the star shaped plate in the press. Fry the murukkus by pressing the murukku mould directly in hot oil. Cook in medium flame.
Fry the murukkus till golden brown and till the oil sound subsides. Flip gently and fry the other side and remove the exess oil with a help of a slotted spoon.
Remove them in an absorbent paper to remove excess oil. Butter murukkus are now ready to be enjoyed as a tea time or any time snack.
To enhance the taste of the murukku deep fry a bunch of curry leaves in the same oil to crisp and mix with prepared chakli murukku and enjoy
When it is cool to room temperature, transfer the dish to a air tight container and preserve for months.
