Prawns biryani is a spicy rice dish which is prepared by marinating prawns and then prepared with spices which is aromatic,Spicy ,tangy and utterly delicious, a truly awesome meal for all prawn-lovers!!It is extremely easy to prepare recipe with simple ingredients.

Preparation time – 20 min

Marination time – 30 min

Cooking time – 20 min

serves – 4

Ingredients for marinating prawns –

Prawn – 500 gm

Lemon juice – 2 tsp

Turmeric powder – 1 tsp

Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp

Chili powder – 2 tsp

Salt to taste

Ingredients to prepare a paste –

Garlic – 1 medium

Ginger – 2 inches

Green chilies – 6 no’s

Ingredients to prepare Biryani –

Basmati rice – 3 cups

Onions – 3 medium chopped

Tomato – 2 medium chopped

Bay leaves – 4 no’s

Soumf/fennel seeds – 1 tsp

Curry leaves – 3 springs

Cinnamon – 3 pieces

Clove – 5 no’s

Coriander leaves – 1 bunch chopped

Mint leaves – 1 bunch chopped

Coriander powder – 1 tbs

Chili powder – 1 tsp

Garam masala powder – 3 tsp

Turmeric powder – 1 tsp

Salt to taste

oil/ghee to fry.

How to prepare prawns biryani – 

Clean and wash the prawn in salt water and marinate it by adding ingredients shown in the above picture and keep it for 30 mins

Take a mixer jar and make a paste of ginger garlic and green chilies and keep aside

Soak basmati rice for 20 min and drain out the water and keep aside.

After marination,heat a pan add 1 tbs of oil in it ,when oil is hot add marinated prawns in it and fry it and keep aside.

Take a casserole add oil in it ,when oil is hot add bay leaves,curry leaves,fennel seeds,cinnamon,cloves fry it,add chopped onions fry till it is translucent

Add grounded masala paste and fry till the raw smell goes

Add chopped tomato add chopped herbs and stir fry till oil separates from it.

Add all dry powders and stir fry

Now add prepared prawns and mix all together

Add rice and mix once again

Add  51/2 cup of water  and salt to taste,bring it to boil

When it begins to boil close the lid of the casserole and mix once or twice before it is done.

Transfer the dish into a serving dish and serve hot
