Peas pulao or how to make peas pulao

Peas are power house of nutrition that are boon for your health. It gives fresh flavour for any dish. This simple Indian Rice dish probably needs no introduction.Simple, easy to make and healthy. I thank and remember my aunt who thought me to make this dish.

Serves-3 to 4.
Ingredients
Basmati:- long grained rice-3 cups
Green peas-1 cup
Cinnamon-3 to 4 sticks
Cloves-2 to 4 nos
Fresh ginger garlic paste-2tsp
Green chilli {chopped into 2 pieces}-3 nos
Oil-1 tsp
Ghee-1 tsp
Water-5 ½ cup
Salt to taste.
Procedure :
Wash and soak long grained rice in water for 15min.Drain water and keep them aside
Heat oil and ghee in a pan for sauteing .Add cinnamon and cloves begin to crackle add green chilli and ginger garlic paste
Saute for a minute add green peas mix till raw smell goes,add soaked and drained basmati rice.Mix and saute for 1-2 min.
Transfer to a rice cooker ,add water and close the lid of the rice cooker.
(If you are cooking in a container add water and cook in a low flame till rice is done).
After 8-10 min rice is done.
Ingredients for garnishing :-
Onion-4 medium size[sliced thin]
Cashewnut-25 nos
Corinder leaves- 1 cup chopped
Oil -2 tsp
Ghee-1tsp
Procedure for garnishing:
Take a kadai-Add ghee and oil in to it add cashewnuts in a medium flame sauting till it turns to golden brown in colour,Remove it and keep it separatly.
In the same oil add thinly sliced onions.Stir fry till onions are golden or caramelized.[do not burn the onions as this lead to bitter taste to pulao]
Add fried onions,cashewes finely chopped coriander leaves to cooked pulao mix all together.
Transfer peas pulao to a serving bowl and enjoy with any curries, it matches good with both vegetarian and non vegetarian curries.
