Onion pokoda or how to prepare onion pokoda

The joy of having hot onion pokoda’s with a cup of hot tea/ coffee, when it rains is unforgettable. Onion pokoda is crispy and tasty, quick and easy in preparation with very less ingredients.

Cooking time – 15 min
Serves – 4
Ingredients:
Onion – 3 medium size, cut into thin slice
Gram flour (Besan) – 3 tbs
Medium rawa / Upma rawa – 1 tsp
chili powder – 1 tsp
salt to taste
Hot oil – 2 tsp
Oil to fry
Procedure :
Cut onion into slice in length wise. Take a mixing bowl, add all the ingredients, nicely squeeze / mix it with hand by adding little water, less the water more crisper pokoda is the out come
Heat oil in a kadai /fry pan when it is hot, take small pieces of pokoda dough and drop into hot oil in batches, stir and turn in between.
Keep the flame to medium while dropping pokoda to oil and latter reduce to low flame. Deep fry till they are golden in colour and becomes crispy.
Enjoy with green chutney/ Tomato sauce / ketchup.
