Oats rotti recipe

Oats provides your body with many health benefits. Oats rotti is a quick and easy to make recipe with simple ingredients which can be prepared instantly and enjoyed with chutney. A delicious way to add fiber and nutrients to your body, first thing in the morning. Oatmeal is a whole grain, and eating whole grains can lower your risk for several diseases, including high blood pressure.
Preparation time – 10 min
Cooking time – 5 min to prepare 1 rotti
Serves – 3
Ingredients –
Oats – 1 bowl
Onion – 2 medium sized (finely chopped)
Carrot – 1 or 2 medium (peeled and grated)
Green chilly – 1 chopped
Cumin – 1/2 tsp
Coriander – 2 to 3 tbs chopped
Salt to taste
Oil to fry
Method –
To make or to prepare Oats rotti –
Heat a pan, add oats in it and dry roast oats in a medium flame for 5 min, until it is hot.
Allow it to cool for a while, Transfer it to a mixer jar
Make a coarse powder and keep ready.
Add prepared oats powder in a bowl, add all the ingredients except oil
Mix all the ingredients and add little by little water, make a soft dough, the dough must be easy to spread on the pan, the consistency of the dough must be soft. (Take care not to add too much of water.)
Grease a flat pan/ tawa with oil, Divide the dough to equal pars and make a medium sized ball, grease your hand with oil and place it on the center of the pan and go on spreading it with greased fingers gently.
Make a round shaped flat and thin rotti on it.
Heat the tawa, sprinkle oil on it
Cook in a medium flame, when it turns light brown in colour flip it to the other side.
Add oil all around it and cook until light brown. Switch off the flame. To prepare next rotti, place the pan under running water to make the tawa cool, wipe it and continue the same for rest of the mixture.
Healthy, Nutritious Oats rotti/talipat is ready. Enjoy it with coconut chutney or Peanut chutney or Peanut red chutney.
Notes –
You can add grated ginger which gives a special flavor to the dish.
Add chilly to adjust to your taste or you can avoid.
Take care not to burn or over cook . Serve hot with chutney or ghee.
