Mysore style chicken chops recipe

Mysore style chicken chops is a delicious side dish prepared in Mysore. It is a simple and tasty curry, a coconut based curry, a quick and easy chicken curry to serve as a side dish for biryani, roti, poori, dosa or idli’s. Give a try and enjoy as a side dish which is just irresistible in taste.
Ingredients:
To grind –
Coconut – 1 cup (grated)
Onion – 2 medium roughly chopped
Ginger – 1 1/2 inch cut into small pieces
Garlic – 1 whole (8 – 10 pods)
Cumin – 1/4 tsp
Pepper – 1/4 tsp
Cinnamon – 2 small sticks
Clove – 2- 3 no’s
Kashmir red chilies – 6 – 7 no’s (adjust to your taste)
Poppy seeds – 1 tsp
Coriander leaves – 1 small bunch
Other ingredients –
Chicken – 1 kg
Onion – 1 small chopped
Oil – 1 tbs
Salt to taste

Method:
Rinse chicken pieces in water for 2 to 3 times, drain the water in it and set aside.
Add grated coconut, pepper, cumin, poppy seeds in a mixer jar and blend it with out adding water to it, to make a powder (so that all the ingredients gets powdered) Once it is done, add all the other ingredients and grind it to a paste by adding water to grind it.
Keep all the ingredients ready to start.
Heat oil in a pan, when it is hot add chopped onion and fry until it gets translucent. Add chicken pieces into it , add salt to taste. Fry until water in the chicken gets evaporated completely.
Add grounded paste into it and combine with the chicken properly. fry it for 2 to 3 min.
Add 1 1/2 cup of water, stir and combine properly and pressure cook it for 1 or 2 whistles.
When the pressure of the cooker settle down by its own, open the lid of the pan and bring it to boil, until it turns to a thick in consistency. Once it is done remove it from the flame.
Enjoy it as a side dish for biryani, Pulav, roti’s, dosa or idli’s.
