Mutton pepper fry
Mutton Pepper fry is a tasty and a must try recipe for the mutton lovers. It is an easy to make recipe with simple spices which makes a yummy and spicy side to serve with rice/ roti’s/ perfect with biryani, parata or pulao.
Ingredients:
Lamb mutton – 500 gm
Green chilies – 2 slit into two pieces
Curry leaves – 2 or 3 springs
Onion – 2 no’s chopped
Pepper powder – 1 tsp (adjust to your taste)
Coriander powder – 3/4 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Salt
To grind –
Pepper – 1 1/2 tsp
Cumin – 3/4 tsp
Garlic – 12 cloves peeled
Clove – 3 no’s
Cinnamon – 1 small stick
Method:
Rinse lamb mutton in water, drain the water in it. Add drained mutton pieces in a pressure pan cook until the water in it absorbs completely, add 1/2 cup of water and salt, pressure cook it for 4 to 5 whistles and keep ready.
Add pepper, cumin, clove and cinnamon in a mixer jar, blend it to a coarse powder, once it done add garlic and blend it together.
Heat a pan by adding little oil in it, when it is hot add chopped onion, curry leaves and green chilies, fry until onion turns to translucent.
Add ground paste, fry until you get a nice aroma. Add coriander powder, toss it well
Add cooked mutton along with the stock in it, cook until the water is absorbed/bring it to thick in consistency.
Finally add pepper powder, toss it well, remove from the flame, garnish with fresh coriander.
Serve hot with a lemon wedge.
