Momos chutney

Spicy chutney for momos that can be made easily made with simple ingredients like chilies, tomato ketchup, soy sauce, vinegar… which makes an aromatic and spicy to serve as a side dish for steamed dumplings (momos)/noodles/fried-rice.

Ingredients:

Red dry chili – 50 gms

Tomato ketchup – 2 tbs

Vinegar – 2 tbs

Soy – 2 tsp

Ginger-Garlic paste – 1 tsp

Garlic chopped – 1 tbs

Salt to taste

Sugar – 2 tsp (adjust to your taste)

Oil – 1 1/2 tbs

Water – 1/2 cup

Method:

Remove the seeds inside each chili, soak it in 30 ml of lukewarm water for 30 mins.

Transfer soaked chilies to a blender along with the water, blend it with ginger-garlic paste, blend it to a smooth paste, and keep ready.

Add oil in a pan, when it is hot add chopped garlic, saute until aromatic.

Add blended chili paste to it, saute, cook on a medium flame, cook covered for 5 mins, then add 1/2 cup of water, bring it to boil until the oil separated to the edges,

Add 2 tsp of soy sauce

Add 2tbs of tomato ketchup (adjust to your taste), 2 tsp of vinegar, salt, and sugar to taste.

Stir, cook covered for 15 mins on a low flame. turn off the flame. Allow it to cool.

flavorful and Spicy Momos chutney is ready to serve.

Preserve it in an airtight container/bottle in the refrigerator.
