Mixed greens bonda recipe or soppina bonda

Soppina bonda is a tasty and healthy south Indian appetizer. It is basically a deep fried snack made with mixed greens like amaranth leaves, dill leaves, spinach, arive, chilkavare, soppu in kannada, mint leaves, coriander leaves mixed with gram flour which is a traditional south Indian version and also a popular snack prepared for many occasions,which is a very easy to make recipe with simple ingredients.

Ingredients –
Chopped herbs/greens –
Amaranth leaves – 1 small bunch
Spinach
Dill leaves
Mountain spinach
Coriander leaves
Mint leaves
Other ingredients –
Onion – 2 big chopped
Green chilly paste/chilly powder – 1 tsp
Gram flour – 1/2 cup
Cooking soda – 1 pinch (Optional)
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying.
How to prepare or to make soppina bonda –
Take cleaned washed, drained and chopped greens in a bowl
Add chopped onions, gram flour, chilly powder/green chilly paste, salt, cooking soda mix altogether properly.
Heat oil in a kadai, when it is hot add 2 tbs of hot oil into the prepared mixture and mix once again
Add little water and mix the mixture so that it should not be too thick in consistency nor very thin
Take a small portion of prepared mixture make a round shaped ball and drop it into oil one by one.Fry until it turns to golden brown in colour, gently flip it to other side and fry them to crisp and golden brown in colour.
When it done remove it with a slotted spoon and set aside.

Tips – If want you can also add cumin seeds.
Always deep fry Soppina bonda in a medium flame till crisp and golden in colour .
Nice mam instead of soda we can even add corn floor
