Millet Curd Rice I Siridhanya Mosaranna I Barnyard millet curd rice

Millet’s curd rice is a supercilious food and very comforting meal. Ingredients:
Barnyard Millet – 1/2 cup
Yogurt /Curd – 500 ml
For seasoning –
Mustard – 1/4 tsp
Cumin – 1/4 Tsp
Dry chilies – 2
Chana dal – 1/2 Tsp
Urad Dal – 1/4 Tsp
Ginger grated – 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves – 2 springs
Other Ingredients –
Coriander – small bunch chopped
Cashew nut – 1 tbs
Pomegranate – 1/4 cup
Carrot – 1/4 cup
Salt to taste
Oil – 1 or 2 tsp

Method:
Rinse millet in water, drain the water in it, add 2 cups of water to cook 1/2 cup of Barnyard millet, pressure cook it for 3 whistles and cook on a low flame for 5 min and remove from the flame. Once the pressure settles down by its own, open the lid and allow it to cool completely/ spread it on a plate.
Ensure the cooked millet is cooled completely, then mix yogurt/curd, and salt to taste, mix it well as there are no lumps in it.
If the yogurt/ curd is sour in taste add little amount of milk to adjust to your taste and set aside.
After mixing yogurt/curd, add grated carrot, pomegranate, cashew nut, raisin (optional), chopped coriander, mix well. the consistency must be medium thick,
Heat a pan by adding 1 Tsp of oil in it, when it is hot splutter mustard, cumin then add chana dal and urad dal, fry until it turns to light brown, then add curry leaves, asafoetida, grated ginger and dry chilies, stir fry for a while. remove from the flame. Allow the mixture to cool.
Add prepared seasoning to curd rice, mix well.
