Methi aloo matar curry recipe

Methi aloo matar is a three way combination of  fenugreek leaves, potatoes and green peas. It is a south Indian style curry, perfect side dish to served with roti,chapati or poori’s. Learn how to make quick and tasty methi aloo matar recipe and enjoy with any meal throughout the day.

Serves – 4

Ingredients –

Fennu greek leaves/methi – 1 bowl chopped

Potato – 1 cup chopped

Green peas – 1 cup

Onion – 1 cup chopped

Coriander leaves – 1/2 cup chopped

Coriander Powder – 1 tsp

Salt to taste

Oil to fry

To grind – 

Coconut – 1 cup grated

Garlic – 4 to 5 cloves

Ginger – 1 small piece

Clove – 2 no’s

Cinnamon – 1 no

Green chilly – 2 no

Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp

How to prepare methi aloo matar curry

Take a mixer jar add all the ingredients to grind and make a paste by adding water and keep it ready

Heat a presssure pan by adding oil in it ,when oil becomes hot add chopped onion saute for a while add chopped methi leaves fry till the raw smell goes

Add chopped coriander leaves saute for a while

Add chopped potato and green peas together fry for a minute together

Add coriander powder and salt to taste mix once again

Add grounded masala paste saute and fry for a while

Add a cup of water and pressure cook for 1 whistle and turn off the flame and allow it to cool,when the cooker becomes cool open the lid and bring the curry to boil till it becomes a thick curry

Flourish methi aloo matar curry is ready to be served .
