Maida Burfi or Maida cake

One of the easiest sweet prepared with maida. Beginners and those who are sweet lovers can try this easy maida cake. Today we will learn how to make maida burfi with step wise pictures.

Serves – 5
Ingredients :-
All purpose flour/maida – 3/4 cup
Ghee – 1/2 cup
Sugar – 1 cup
Cashew nuts – 10 to 15
Food colour – 2 drops
Vanilla essence – 1/2 tsp
Procedure:-
Grease a baking tray or any plate with ghee and keep it ready.
Sieve maida flour.
Method :-
Take a heavy bottomed kadai,heat ghee and fry the cashew nuts until golden brown.
In the same ghee, fry maida on a low flame for 5 minutes or until the raw smell goes,turn off the flame.
In separate pan/kadai dissolve sugar in 1/2 cup of water. Add vanilla essence, food colour. Boil sugar water until you get a one string consistency.
Then pour the sugar syrup to the maida mixture,stirring continuously.
You can keep the pan on the kitchen counter and stir. when it starts to become thick and leaves the sides of the pan, pour the mixture into the prepared greased tray.
When it is warm,make cuts with a knife across the burfi. Remove the pieces after it cools completely . Easy maida burfi is ready.
Note – You can add any color and flavour of your choice like pink suits with rose essence,green with vanilla essence.
