Long beans curry or mangalore beans curry recipe

Long beans are a good source of dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals.Tender, flexible green beans or snap beans or French beans or Mangalore alasande in Kannada are a delight of vegetarian lovers. It is a simple and easy to prepare curry recipe which goes good as a side dish for chapati/roti/rice.

Serves – 4
Ingredients –
Long beans/Mangalore beans – 500gms[cut into medium pieces]
Onion – 2 medium chopped
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves – 2 springs
Samber powder – 1 tbs
Coriander leaves – for garnishing
Coconut (grated) – 1/2 cup
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil to fry
How to prepare or make long beans curry / mangalore beans curry –
Take a pressure cooker pan,heat it by adding oil into it,when oil is hot add mustard seeds when it starts to sparckle add cyrry leaves and chopped onion
Fry till onion is translucent,add chopped long beans fry for a while till the raw smell evaporate
Add samber powder,turmeric powder and salt to taste mix together fry for a while
Add 1/2 cup of water and pressure cook for 1 whistle,when the cooker becomes cool open it and bring the curry to boil till the water evapartes
Now add grated coconut and mix well,turn off the flame,transfer the dish to a serving bowl garnish with fresh chopped coriander and enjoy with roti/chapati.
