Kosambari recipe or soaked moong dal salad

Kosambari is a traditionally prepared dish on the festivals days, it is a healthy salad which is high in protein and fiber, can be included in the everyday meal. It is prepared with raw cucumber, soaked moong dal with seasoning, it is easy to prepare a salad with healthy ingredients, it is a traditional salad which is usually prepared on Sri Ramanavami with Panaka and Neeru Majjige.

Serves – 4
Ingredients –
Moong dal – 3/4 cup
Cucumber – 1/2 cup finely chopped
Fresh coriander leaves – 3 tbs finely chopped
Grated coconut – 4 tbs
Lemon juice – 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
For seasoning –
Oil – 1 Tsp
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
Green chilies – 2 small chopped
Curry leaves – 1 spring
How to make or prepare Kosambari –
Wash and soak moong dal for 5 to 8 min and drain out the water in it.
Take a bowl to add soaked and drained moong dal, finely chopped cucumber, chopped coriander leaves, grated coconut,
Heat a pan by adding oil , When it is hot add mustard seeds when it begins to crackle add green chilies and curry leaves
Turn off the flame and allow it to cool. finally, add fresh lemon juice. Toss all the ingredients,
Hesaru Bele kosambari is ready .
