Thanks a lot Dear swati pathak 🙂
Dear Madame, thank you for the detailed receipe. I have this doubt and confusion about millets. they all look alike. In this case, you have indicated clearly as to how it has to be used. but how to use it in other preparations ? they all look alike. is it better to fry them first ? can we fry and grind them into a powder before mixing with other ingredients. I shall be glad to have your guidance in this regard. yours truly, Sarveswaran
Though Millets look alike they are different, for some recepies we have to dry fry before adding.. Like upma,Pongal, bhath etc, to prepare ganji/kanji,dosa idli no need to fry them. Thanks for the feedback and support
What do v call kodo millet in kannada , pls let me know ..
It’s Haraka in Kannada, one among Siri dhanya, there are 10 different types of siridanya,it is one among them, similar to Navane akki, all siridanya’s are packed with vitamins and minerals, good for health. Thanks for your feedback, please try the recipe
Grind soaked kodo millet and poha as well. Mix with urad dal batter. Ensure that the consistency of batter is that of regular idli batter. Steam or pressure cooker for about 10 to 12 minutes. If using a pressure cooker, steam without putting the whistle on the lid.
Thank you for reminding, made a correction.
