Kadlekalu husli I Channa sundal recipe

Kadlekalu Ulsi / Chana sundal is a nutritional snack with high protein and fiber rich dish. It is easy and simple to make recipe. This one dish is supposed to be Lord Ganesha’s favorite dish, which is a must dish to be prepared to offer god on Ganesha chathurthi in our house and is served as a prasada in most of the temples in Karnataka. Usli is a side dish made of dry beans.
Preparation time – 10 min
Soaking time – 10 hrs or over night
Cooking time – 15 min
Serves – 4
Ingredients –
Kadale KaaLu/Black Channa – 1 1/2 cup (soaked for over night)
mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
Green chilies – 5 chopped
Curry leaves – 4 springs
Coriander – 1 bunch chopped
Asafoetida – a pinch
Coconut – 1 cup grated (fresh)
Salt
Oil – 2 tbs
Procedure to make or to prepare usli/sundal –
Wash and soak black chana for over night, drain the water in it and pressure cook for 6 to 7 whistles by adding salt. when it is done and pressure settles down fully by its own, open the lid of the pressure cooker drain the water by using a colander and keep ready.
Heat a pan by adding oil in it, when it is hot add mustard seeds allow it to splutter, add green chilies, curry leaves, half or the chopped coriander and asafoetida a pinch, saute ( cook in a medium flame take care not to burn the ingredients which spoils the taste of the dish.)
Add cooked and drained black chana into it and mix altogether. Turn off the flame.
Add fresh grated coconut and chopped coriander, add fresh lemon juice mix altogether.
Healthy and Delicious kadlekalu husli/chana sundal is ready. Serve it as a side dish.
