Kaane fish green masala fry recipe

Kane also known as “Lady Fish” is very popular in the Konkan coast or coastal area of Karnataka.This dish is a another favorite among the fish eating community.It is a green masala fry perfect for kaane fish,prepared by grinding green chilies,coriander leaves with spices marinated ,dipped in semolina and shallow fried to make a crispy and delicious fish fry.Do try this easy and tasty fish recipe.
Preparation time – 10 min
Marination time – 3 hrs
Cooking time – 5 min for each fish
Ingredients –
Lady fish – 1 kg
Green chilly – 8 no
Coriander leaves – 1 bunch
Garlic – 10 cloves
Ginger – 1 inch
Lemon juice – 1/2 tbs
Rice flour – 2 tbs
Salt to taste
Semolina/medium rawa (for coating) – 1 cup
Oil to shallow fry
How to prepare lady fish or kaane green masala fish fry –
Clean the fish and make 3 or 4 incision on each fish and set aside.
Take a mixer jar and add green chillies,coriander leaves,ginger garlic and make a fine paste by adding little water
Add lemon juice ,rice flour and salt to taste mix altogether properly,Take a bowl add prepared masala and mix with fish and marinade for 3 hrs in refridgretor
After marination, heat a flat pan/tawa
Take a cup of semolina dip/apply to both side of the fish
Shallow fry in a medium flame by adding oil (Note – Always cook in a medium flame so that the fish will cook properly inside otherwise if you cook in a high flame it remains raw in the middle)
Fry till the fish turns to golden brown,flip to the other side again apply oil around and fry till it is done.Continue the same for the rest
Green masala kaane/lady fish is ready,serve hot with onion,cucumber and lemon wedges.
