Cluster beans stir fry Gorikai palya is a tasty curry prepared as a side dish for rice sambar or rasam, cluster beans contain nutrients that help in controlling blood sugar levels in the body, it includes numerous important Vitamins, namely Vitamin K, Vitamin C, Vitamin A, foliates, and abundant with carbohydrates, and has minerals… This is an easy and delicious curry prepared with the combination of tur dal with cluster beans.
Ingredients:
Cluster beans – 250 gm cut into small pieces
Tur dal – 1/4 cup
Cumin – 1 tsp
Chilies – 8 no’s adjust to your taste
Coconut – 1/2 cup grated
Salt to taste
Oil
Tamarind juice – 2 Tsp
Jaggery – 1 tsp (optional)
Asafoetida – 1 pinch

Method:
Soak Tur dal for 1 hour
Cut cluster beans into 1 inch, rinse it and keep ready.
Heat oil in a pressure pan, when it is hot add mustard seeds, allow it to sizzle in it, then add curry leaves, add asafoetida, then add chopped veggies, saute in oil for 4 min until the raw smell evaporates completely.
Add grated coconut, cumin, chilies, salt and soaked Tur dal to a mixer jar, make a coarse paste and keep ready
Add this to the veggies, saute well, add tamarind juice and jaggery and 1/2 cup of water, pressure cook it or cook covered in a medium flame. Saute in between before it is done.
Once the beans get cooked, bring the curry to a thick curry,
Serve hot as a side dish for rice or rotis.
Tips –
Another method you can mix ground masala to chopped cluster beans with tamarind juice and jaggery (optional) cook it by adding required amount of water, season it finally.
