How to make beaten Avalakki oggarane  or rice chiwda

Ingredients –

Thin flattened rice/paper avalakki – 4 cup

Peanuts – 1/2 cup

Roasted gram – 1/2 cup

Curry leaves – 4 springs

Mustard seeds – 1 tsp

Chili powder – 1 tsp

Turmeric powder –  1/2 tsp

Sugar – 1 tsp

Oil – 2 tbs

Salt to taste

Procedure –

Keep paper avalakki/thin flattened rice under a shade till it becomes crispy and keep ready.

Heat a kadai by adding oil in it when it is hot add mustard seeds ,when it begins to crackle add peanuts fry till it turns to golden brown and crisp,do not over burn or under cook .Add roasted gram and fry for a while and add curry leaves

Add chili powder,turmeric powder,sugar and salt to taste

Add thin flattened rice/paper avalakki ,mix altogether

Turn off the flame ,allow it to  become cool.

Serve and enjoy as a evening snack with tea or coffee or preserve it in a air tight container for 15 to 20 days.
