Aval laddo I Poha ladoo recipe I Avalakki unde

Red Aval laddu is a sweet ball prepared with red aval / poha / flattened rice, sugar, cardamom, and ghee. Aval laddu is usually prepared at the time of Krishna Jayanthi. I used red aval in this recipe but you can replace it with regular white aval. A quick and yummy snack that can be prepared with few ingredients, it taste similar to Rava laddu except the flavor of the flatened rice.
Ingredients:
Flattened rice red/white – 1 cup (thin variety)
Sugar – 1/2 cup
Hot melted Ghee – 1/4 cup
Copra – 2 tbs grated or desiccated coconut powder
Cardamom powder – 1/4 Tsp
Cashewnut – 2 Tbs broken into small pieces
Method:
Heat a pan add flattened rice in it dry fry for 2 min on a medium flame. Allow it to cool completely.
Transfer it to a mixer jar and blend it to a fine powder,
In the same jar add sugar and make a fine powder, Transfer it to a clean bowl/vessel.
Heat 1 tbs of ghee in the kadai, when it is hot fry cashew nuts to golden and keep ready.
Take powdered ingredients, add grated copra, cardamom powder, roasted cashew nuts, mix well. Add heated ghee to it.
Mix well make lemon sized laddoo’s out of it.
Easy Aval/ poha laddus are ready to offer God, Krishna and enjoy the laddus! Aval Laddoo can be stored/preserved up to 2 weeks in an air tight container.
Note/tips-
If needed you can use more ghee for binding or you can use warm milk, similar to Rava laddu preparation. If you use milk consume it on the same day.
