Andhra style chicken curry I Godavari chicken fry

Andra style Godavari chicken popular restaurant style delicious chicken curry that can be made easily using simple spices, to serve as a side dish for Biryani or Rotis. A cashew nut based rich and creamy curry made with aromatic spices in a south Indian method, sure give it a try and enjoy as a side dish for sambar rice/ dal rice or with Rotis.
Ingredients:
Chicken – 750 gms
To fry and grind –
Onion – 1 medium chopped
Cashew nut – 10 no’s
Chilly powder – 1 tsp
Other ingredients –
Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
Tomato – 1 medium chopped
Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Curry leaves – 2 springs
Chilly powder – 1 tsp Adjust to your taste
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala powder – 1/2 tsp
Pepper powder – 1/2 tsp
Coriander – 1/4 cup chopped
Lemon juice – 1 tsp
Oil to fry
Method:
Rinse and clean chicken, drain the water with a colander, and keep ready.
Heat 1 tbs of oil in a vessel when it is hot, fry cashew nuts until it turns golden brown, then add chopped onion, fry until
translucent, then add chilly powder, saute for 1 min and remove from the flame, allow it to cool on a plate,
Once cooled blend it to a smooth paste and keep ready. In the same pan add 1 tbs of oil, when it is hot add ginger garlic paste, fry until you get a nice aroma, then add chopped tomatoes, fry until it becomes soft,
Now add chicken pieces into, saute
Saute until the water evaporates, for 5 to 6 mins on a medium flame.
Ensure the water in the chicken is absorbed, then add turmeric powder, salt, curry leaves, chilly powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, combine together, saute nicely.
Add 1/2 cup of water, bring it to boil, cook covered for 20 mins or until chicken is cooked, saute in between before it is done.
Ensure the chicken is almost done, add blended paste,
Combine with the curry, continue to cook for 5 or 6 mins.
Add lemon juice,
Finally add pepper powder, coriander leaves, mix it properly.
Combine with the curry properly, remove from the flame,
Delicious Andhra style Godavari chicken curry is ready to enjoy as a side dish for rice or Rotis.
