Aloo drumstick curry recipe – delicious south Indian curry

Aloo drumstick curry is a delicious traditional south Indian curry ,which needs no grinding, simple and delicious ,easy to make recipe with less ingredients with a combination of potato and drumstick flavorful and tasty to go with rice or chapati.

Ingredients –
Drumstick – 4 no’s (cut into medium pieces)
Potato – 2 medium size (peeled and cut into cubes)
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
Onion – 2 medium chopped
Curry leaves – 2 springs
Sambar powder – 1 tbs
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Coconut grated – 3 tbs
Coriander leaves – 1 bunch chopped
Salt to taste
Oil to fry
How to make or prepare aloo drumstick curry –
Heat a kadai by adding oil in it,when it is hot add mustard seed,as it starts to crackle add curry leaves and onion ,fry till onion turns to translucent.
Add cleaned aloo/potato and drumstick fry for a while,add salt to taste.
Add sambar powder and turmeric powder,fry for a while till raw smell evaporates from it.
Add 1 cup of water and cover the lid of the kadai,cook till it is done or cooked
Ensure the vegetables are cooked,bring the curry to a thick consistency, add grated coconut and chopped fresh coriander leaves mix altogether.
Quick and easy ( aloogadde nugge kayi palya in Kannada ) Aloo drumstick curry is ready to serve as a side dish for rice with sambar or for chapati.
Tips – select tender drumstick to prepare this curry.
You can use any sambar powder or you can add red chilly powder other than sambar powder to prepare this curry.
Please take care when you cook the curry ,don’t over burn the curry,cook in a medium flame.
