Achari chicken

Achari chicken is a tasty North Indian curry, a curry cooked in a pickle spices, The preparation is similar to any Indian curry but with ingredients that pack a punch and very authentic in flavor and taste. Just try and enjoy as a side dish for any Indian bread.
Ingredients:
For marination –
Chicken – 750 gm
Yogurt – 1/4 cup
Ginger garlic paste – 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
Salt
To fry –
Mustard – 1/4 tsp
Fennel seeds – 1 tsp
Black cumin( Kalonji) – 1/4 tsp
Fenugreek – 1/4 tsp
Clove – 3 no’s
Cinnamon – 1 small piece
Cardamom – 1
Other Ingredients –
Onion – 2 chopped
Green chiles – 2 no’s
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Oil
Method:
Rinse chicken thoroughly in water, drain the water with a colander, add it to a bowl, add all the ingredients to marinate, mix properly and refrigerate for 3 hrs.
Dry fry all the ingredients one by one, in a pan until you get a nice aroma in a medium flame. Once done remove from the flame and set aside to cool.
Add all the roasted ingredients to a blender and make a dry powder and keep ready.
Heat a pan by adding oil in it, when it is hot add chopped onion and green chilies, fry until onion turns light brown, once done add marinated chicken mixture into it, saute until the mixture gets heated,
Add chili powder and coriander powder, cook on a medium flame covered until the chicken gets done. It takes about 15 to 20 min. Saute in between before it is done.
Ensure the chicken is almost done, add prepared powder into it, mix properly, cook until the gravy thickens. Switch off the flame.
Serve hot as a side dish with any Indian bread.
