Cabbage curry is a very simple every day dish made in every households. Healthy, nutritious tasty cabbage curry for rice or chapati. It is an ultimately easy recipe, even a bachelor can prepare this recipe. It is a traditional curry made as a side dish for all special occasions, which is delicious and easy to make in a short time.

Preparation time – 10 min

Cooking time –  5-10 min

Serves – 4

Ingredients –

Cabbage – 1 bowl chopped finely

Turmeric powder – less than 1/4 tsp

Cumin – 1/4 tsp

Dry red chilly/green chilly – 2 no’s chopped

Curry leaves – 2 springs

Coconut – 1/2 cup grated

Coriander for garnishing

Salt to taste

Oil to fry

Method –

To make or to prepare cabbage palya/curry –

Chop cabbage finely immerse in water, drain the water in it, add it to a kadai, add turmeric powder and salt to taste close the lid of the kadai cook until it is done.

Stir once or twice before it is done, cook in a medium flame, it takes less time to be done/cooked. take care not to burn, if necessary add/sprinkle little water, cook until the water in it gets evaporated. Once it is done remove it and set a side.

In the same kadai, add oil when it is hot add cumin seeds, allow it to sizzle, add chilies and curry leaves saute and add cooked cabbage into it, combine (you can add a pinch of powdered asofietida/hing which is optional)

Add grated coconut and chopped coriander into it and toss it well, remove from the flame.

Enjoy as a side dish for  sambar, rice or serve it with chapati.
