Sev recipe I Easy diwali snack

Homemade sev is very delicious and crunchy snack made during Diwali.
Preparation time – 10 min
Cooking time – 10 min
Serves – 4
Ingredients –
Gram flour – 1 cup
Rice flour – 3 tbs
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Oil – 1 tbs
Salt to taste
Oil to deep fry
Chakli machine with sev mould (mould with tiny holes)
Method –
To make or to prepare Sev –
Sieve the flour and add flour, salt, turmeric powder, oil in a bowl mix well.
Mix it by adding little and little water slowly, knead it to a smooth and soft dough. (The dough should be neither hard nor too soft, it should be easy to press in the mould)
Take a chakli machine fit the sev mould, grease the inner surface with oil, fill it with prepared dough and keep ready. Mean while heat oil in a deep frying pan in a medium flame.
When oil is hot, hold the machine over the pan, turn the handle of the machine and press out thin strands to fall into oil slowly move the machine in a circular motion.
Deep fry both side for 2 minutes on a medium flame until it becomes crisp and light brown in colour.
Remove it with a clip utensil or with a slotted spoon to drain oil in it.
Put it on a paper towel to drain excess oil in it. Repeat the same procedure for remaining dough. allow it to cool for 10 to 15 min, then break/crush it into small pieces and store it in a air tight container for 2 weeks or more.
Crispy, crunchy sev is ready. It is quick and very easy to prepare, just try and Enjoy!!!
Note – For flavour you can soak 1/2 tsp of ajwin/ om seeds in warm water for 15 min, gently squeeze and strain, collect the water and add it to prepare the dough, to get flavored sev.
You can add chilly powder to make spicy sev.
Sprinkle prepared sev on poha, upma or any chaats to make it more yummy.
