Avalakki sweet Pongal is a quick and easy to make recipe in a short time without adding lintels or dal,it is one of an easy recipe to prepare dish as a Nivedyam or prasad to offer God, it is prepared by soaking thick flattened rice cooked with jaggery and milk, freshly grated coconut, roasted cashew nuts, raisins and cardamom powder  is added which taste delicious and easy to prepare with simple ingredients.

 

 

 

Ingredients:

Ingredients –

Thick flattened rice – 2 cups (soaked for 5 min and drained)

Jaggery – 1 cup

Milk – 1 cup (boiled and cooled)

Grated coconut – 1 cup

Ghee – 3 tbs

Cashew nut – 1/4 cup

Raisins – 10 to 12 no’s

Cardamom or elachi – 3 no powdered

Method:

Take a casserole add jaggery add 1/4 cup of water, bring it to boil till it dissolves in it.

When jaggery dissolves fully add soaked and drained flattened rice, mix together

Cook for a while mix properly, add 1 cup of milk bring it to boil

Cook on a low flame, close the lid of the casserole  till it becomes thick, add grated coconut and cardamom powder

Heat a pan by adding ghee in it, add cashew fry till it turns to golden brown add raisins and fry to golden and keep aside

Add fried or roasted nut along with the ghee

Mix all together, turn off the flame.

Delicious Avalakki sweet Pongal is ready to be served
