Kodo Millet Dumplings I Nucchina unde

Kodo millet dumplings is a healthy snack dish made with a combination of millets, lentils, greens, and other ingredients – are loaded with nutritional health benefits you get high protein, a low-calorie food that is packed with vitamins and minerals. Ingredients:
Kodo millet – 1 cup
Tur dal – 1/4 cup
Chanadal – 1/2 cup
Moong dal – 1/2 cup
Ginger – 1 inch
Green chilly – 4 no’s (adjust to your taste)
Onion – 2 medium chopped
Dill leaves – 1 bunch chopped finely
Coriander – 1/2 cup chopped
Coconut – 1/2 cup grated
Salt
For tempering –
Mustard – 1/4 Tsp
Cumin – 1/4 Tsp
Sesame – 3/4 Tsp
Curry leaves – 2 springs chopped
Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp
Oil – 1/2 Tsp

Method:
Soak lentils for 3 hours.
Rinse Kodo millet in running water, drain the water in it, Add it to a pressure cooker pan, add 1 1/2 cup of water and pressure cook it for 3 whistles.
Once done, fluff it gently, allow it to cool completely, Meanwhile drain the water from the soaked lentil, add it to a blender with green chilies, chopped ginger, and salt, make a coarse mixture without adding water.
Add ground mixture, cooked millets, chopped greens, onion, grated coconut in a bowl,
Heat oil in a pan, sizzle, mustard, cumin, sesame seeds, add chopped curry leaves and asafoetida, remove from the flame,
Add to the prepared mixture, mix it properly.
Take a small quantity of mixture press it to make an oval-shaped ball as shown in the image, Heat a steamer/idli cooker, add enough water to the base of steamer/idli cooker, place a banana leaf in the container
Arrange the prepared balls in it, steam it for 15 min.
Serve hot and enjoy with coconut chutney/ Tomato sauce
