Pesarattu Dosa Recipe I Green Gram Dosa I Hesarukalina Dose
Pesarattu Dosa is a healthy dosa made with whole green gram, A popular breakfast recipe from Andra Pradesh. Green gram is loaded with nutritional health benefits you get high protein, low-calorie food that is packed with vitamins and minerals. It is an easy to make recipe which needs no fermentation you can make it instantly after grinding. A crispy, thin, tasty and nutritious dosa served with Ginger chutney/coconut chutney and Upma a delicacy of Andhra Pradesh.
Ingredients:
Whole Green gram – 1 cup
Rice – 2 tbs
Green chilies – 4 no’s adjust to your taste
Cumin – 1/4 tsp
Coriander – 1 small bunch
Ginger – 1 inch
Salt to taste
For toppings –
Onion – 1 or 2 medium (finely chopped)
Coriander finely chopped
Oil/ghee
Method:
Soak green gram and rice together for overnight. Next morning drain the water in it, transfer it to a blender, Grind it to a smooth paste along with green chilies, ginger, cumin seeds, coriander and salt to taste, blend it to a smooth paste, add water as needed, once done transfer the prepared batter to a bowl.
The consistency of the batter must be as similar to dosa batter not too thick or too thin,
Heat a flat pan, spread little oil, Keep the prepared batter and the toppings handy, when the pan is hot enough / it is ready to make dosa
with a ladle pour a ladle of batter spread it gently in a circular motion to a round shape dosa, pour some oil on it, sprinkle, chopped onion and coriander,
Press it with a spatula gently, as it gets stuck to the batter which is getting cooked, flip it to the other side for 1 or 2 min.
Fold it.
Serve and Enjoy nutritious dosa with your favorite chutney.
Tips –
To make more healthy you can replace rice with Millet’s, which is alternative to rice. Do include millet in your daily diet for more health benefits to stay healthy.
